Miramare is the German pioneer of organized naturist / nudist travel.

In 1960, the brothers Halbig founded a tour operator for nudist holidays to Yugoslavia, now Miramare. After successful negotiations with the mayors of various towns in the former Yugoslavia, the first nudist travel followed in 1961. The 68's brought significant liberalization of social norms, in parallel with the boom nudism and Miramare could flourish.

Since 2002, Susanna March, is the business leader of the company. The expectations of nudist vacationers are high and the Miramare team is working hard to meet them. The merger of six European naturist tour operators to "Natunion International", that now forms the the world's largest naturist travel organization, contributes to this objective. The German partner of this organization is Miramare Reisen GmBH. The common efforts and joint appearance of the co-operation improves the negotiating positions and as a result allows you to access shared resources, such as the travel catalog and selection of destinations.

Miramare customers enjoy the benefits of this merger in the form of favorable prices and a wide range and favorable conditions for naturist / nudist holidays that are not located in low cost segment. The desitinations that are offered by Miramar and the other members of the Natunion are carefully selected as suitable targets subjected according to strict selection criteria. As the demand is greater than supply, regular customers of Miramar know that early booking is recommendable.

Susanna March: "Naturist trips are not cheap travel for us, we do not offer cheap last minute deals". In the meantime Miramare Reisen GmbH offers nudist vacation at many places in the world: in addition to several European countries and the Canary Islands are also other destinations such as Mexico, the United States and the Caribbean in the catalog of Miramare. "Especially the overseas destinations are very hospitable to naturists and nudists," Susanna March says.

Miramare offers a range from simple accommodation up to the 5 *- star hotel. Managing director Susanna March: "In the early days, nudist vacations were very basic, but those days are gone now and nowadays the demand is even for considerable luxury, which gladly we can offer." Miramare is more than a traditional travel agent. The need to spend the holiday close to nature attracts some peculiarities, which Miramare takes into full account when offering destinations. However, in some more traditional cultures, the relationship to human nudity is very distant. This makes it advisable to try nudist holidays there in these locations, describes Miramare travel. "We do not want to risk any issues with local customs and the people, but want offer our customers a great holiday without problems," added Susan March.

Spain specifically, since the end of the Franco dictatorship has made huge steps towards a more liberal attitude. Susanna March: "Today you may walk around naked almost everywhere in Spain." Mind you: you may, but this doesn't make it an obligation.

Naturist / nudist holidays are "active vacations". Accordingly, the range of sports offered by Miramare travel is broad. But the activities are not limited to the body; also the mind is well taken care of: During a romantic cruise off the Dalmatian coast, several cultural visits provide welcome variations. Vacation at clubs in Mexico can be wonderfully combined with a (clothed) visit of the country. Susanna March: "We are reluctant to organize a trip to a country with such a rich history , only to lay down in the sun for three weeks."

One of the main selection criteria is the cleanliness of the facilities. It is a consensus among naturists that a holiday close to nature is only possible in harmony with nature - which makes it incompatible with areas that do not provide well kept, clean and natural surroundings. This fact will be valued especially by people targeting a truly wonderful holiday in nature. Susanna March: "We want our guests to feel comfortable, and our motto is: Your vacation is our priority"
